Celebrating Learning, Faith, Community and Giving

At St James Kidsway, our preschool is about so much more than the classroom. Throughout the year we enjoy a wide variety of events that bring together children, families, our church, and the wider community.

From celebrating special occasions and cultural events to exciting excursions, family fun days, and community gatherings, every event provides opportunities for children to learn, build friendships, and experience God's love through shared experiences.

As a not-for-profit preschool, we also hold fundraising events throughout the year to help enhance our learning environment and provide new resources and opportunities for our tamariki. Alongside this, we are passionate about teaching children the importance of kindness, generosity, and serving others by supporting community initiatives such as Pink Ribbon, Jammies in June, and other charitable causes that make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Through these experiences, our children learn that even the smallest act of giving can have a lasting impact, reflecting our Christian values of love, compassion, and service.

    Term 3 Excursion: Stardome Observatory

    On Friday 28 August, our preschoolers will be visiting Stardome Observatory to extend their growing interest in space, planets, stars, and the wonders of God's amazing creation. This exciting hands-on experience will inspire curiosity and support children's learning beyond the classroom.

    More information, including permission forms and trip details, will be shared with families via Storypark.

    Wig Wednesday

    St James Kidsway Preschool is proudly taking part in Wig Wednesday on 23 September to help raise funds for Child Cancer Foundation. We invite all of our tamariki to come dressed in bright colours, fun wigs, or cool hairstyles, and we'll even have coloured hair spray at preschool so everyone can join in the fun! Children are also welcome to bring a gold coin donation or any spare change on the day, or you can support our fundraiser online by donating at https://wigwednesday.org.nz/st-james-kidsway-preschool

    Our Noah's Ark Disco was a fantastic evening of fun, raising $310 towards a new carpentry cabinet for our tamariki. Thank you to everyone who supported this event!

    A big thank you to everyone who supported our Domino's Pizza Fundraiser! Together we raised $235, with every dollar going towards our new carpentry cabinet to enrich hands-on learning for our tamariki.

    Thank you to everyone who supported our Pink Ribbon Morning Tea! Together we raised $220.70 for the Breast Cancer Foundation. We were also delighted to donate our leftover food to Palms Lifecare Rest Home, where residents enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea of sweet treats and savouries.

  • Jammies for June

    Throughout June, we collected new pyjamas to help keep children and families in need warm this winter.

  • CookieTime Fundraiser

    Our CookieTime Fundraiser is now underway! Families can collect orders from now until the second week of Term 3. Funds raised will go towards adding a fun new feature to our existing bike track, creating even more exciting opportunities for our tamariki to ride, explore, and develop their confidence and physical skills.
